Baby Clothes Memory Quilt

Baby Clothes Quilt
I made a quilt using the baby clothes of our second son. I made his quilt first since he had the fewest clothes left form when he was a baby.

I cut the clothes a little bigger than 65" square. I then cut a huge stash of white cotton muslin into 6.5" square. I then basted the muslin onto the baby clothes square with a 1/8" border. I then cut the baby cloths squares down to the size of the muslin squares.

Determining blocks for baby clothes quilt
I lay out the blocks and I group them into sets of four. I then sewed them into four patch blocks using a 1/4" seam. I then cut white flannel into 12.5" x 2.5" strips and sewed them to one side of the four patch blocks.

Determining layout for baby clothes quilt

I laid out the blocks to determine final placement. I added the final side border and then added the horizontal borders.

Quilt top is done. I haven't decided how I'll make the back since it ended up wider than the width of the white flannel.

BDU Sea Turtle

This BDU sea trutle is a baby shower gift. The happy mommy-to-be was at the gift exchange where I gave an ACU sea turtle. She almost had it, but lost it to someone else. She gave me her BDU's from when she was in the Navy to make her a more special keepsake.

Pattern is from Funky Friends Factory.
